We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you submit an enquiry, request a quote, or contact us by phone or email, we collect what you choose to tell us, typically your name, phone number, email address, the address of the property concerned, and details of the work you are considering.

Information collected automatically. Our website host records standard server logs, including IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use these to keep the site secure and available. We do not use them to build a profile of you.

We do not track you. This website runs no analytics and no advertising tracking. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no third-party tracking script on any page.

Cookies

This website sets no advertising, analytics or profiling cookies. The only cookie it uses is set for our own staff when they preview unpublished content in our content management system. It is never set for ordinary visitors, and nothing on this site requires you to accept a cookie.

How we use your information

We use personal information to:

• respond to your enquiry and answer your questions;
• prepare quotes, scopes of work and contracts;
• carry out and administer work you engage us for;
• meet our obligations under building, work health and safety, insurance and tax law;
• keep the records we are required to keep.

We will not send you marketing you did not ask for.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information, and we do not disclose it for anyone else’s marketing. We share it only where it is necessary:

• with Netlify, which hosts this website and stores form submissions, and SMTP2GO, which sends enquiry notification emails;
• with consultants, engineers, certifiers and subcontractors, where that is needed to quote for or carry out your project;
• with our insurers and professional advisers;
• where we are required or authorised to do so by law.

Overseas storage

Some of our service providers store data on servers outside Australia. Where that is the case, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Keeping information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, and you send information to us at your own risk.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, and for as long afterwards as the law requires. Records relating to building work are kept for the periods required under NSW building and home warranty legislation.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. We will respond within a reasonable period, and we may need to verify your identity first. There is no charge for making a request.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The version published on this page is always the current one.
